Wedding Videography FAQ

How much equipment do you bring with you on the wedding day?

I try to keep things minimal without effecting any quality lose. The lighting options and if a tripod is needed or extra cameras are needed is discussed prior to the wedding.

How will we receive our wedding videos?

You will have your own online gallery for you to view and download everything. This is the case for all work of mine that I do. Click here for an example. A day or two after the wedding you will have a few major clips from the wedding uploaded. Within 2 weeks all minor/short videos will be uploaded. Within a month everything will be completed and uploaded there.

What cameras do you use to create your wedding videos?

Currently I use Sony Cameras . Typically I use Sony A7SIII paired with Sony AIV. If needed Sony FX3 or even FX6 is used.

Can we choose the music for our wedding video / videos?

Yes, definitely! Since the videos are for your personal collection we don’t need to get licensing or copyright free music. I know music is important for couples. Most have their special song or songs. This is something I always ask couples to give me options to include in the video to make it more personal.

Can we make changes to our wedding videos?

Definitely, although I try my best to make sure everything is perfect. All videos do come with a certain amounts of revisions. You give me a list of items you would like changed and I happily do it. We can even hop on a zoom call and go through the video in detail.

When will we receive our wedding videos?

I take pride in getting things done with urgency. You will receive video clips of sections of the wedding within a day or two after the wedding. All video work will be available with-in a month after the wedding.

Do you film the groom/bride getting ready?

Yes, I can. This is something we discuss prior to the wedding day.

Who will be filming my wedding?

I (Anton) will be there. If a second videographer is needed. I do hire another fellow videographer to work together.

Do you outsource your editing?

No. I take pride in my work. I do all the colour grading and editing myself.

Do you make back ups?

I record video in 10 bit 4.2.2 on my cameras and external monitors when possible. After sending you the final video. I keep the raw footage of your wedding stored for up to 1 year. After that it gets deleted.

How do you record sound on your wedding videos?

Audio is recorded in 3 ways: Lav mics, recorder to the DJs soundboard and on-camera mics.

Should we meet before the wedding?

It is preferred. At least a zoom meeting or WhatsApp video call would be helpful.

When is the best time to book?

I would say book as soon as possible. I know this might be a common answer but there is only so many warm weather Friday’s and Saturday’s during the year. Usually couple’s book for the same days.

Do you record audio for the ceremony and speeches.

Yes! I try to record as much audio as possible.

Do you put a lav mic on the groom and on the bride?

Usually just the groom and the officiant have the lav mics on them. The bride could be mic’d up if needed. Most weddings it is not needed.

Do you use lighting for wedding video?

This is optional. I usually talk to the couple about lighting options before the wedding. There are moments where professional lighting makes the footage look real nice without getting in the way of the wedding.

How many hours of coverage do your packages include?

I’m there for up to 12 hours. I really want to make sure I capture everything. This is important to me. This way the final video is not missing anything.

What are the advantages of having two wedding videographers over just one?

Yes, two videographers are beneficial if there are two places at once that a videographer has to be. Also times like when a bride walks down the aisle (to capture the bride walking and groom’s reaction) or during speeches it could be beneficial to have 2 videographers.

Can we get the raw footage? Is there a charge?

Yes, you can get all the raw footage and there is no charge. I’m happy to share everything I capture. It will lack proper colour grading though, as it is raw. So just keep that in mind.
